Information about tinning electrical contacts in junction boxes.

Induction tinning of junction boxes provides an advanced technological solution for ensuring durable electrical connections. By utilizing a high frequency induction generator, the process is optimized for maximum efficiency and quality, which are essential for the renewable energy sector.

This application involves the soldering of electrical contacts inside a junction box used in solar panels. The process ensures efficient and consistent tinning, critical for the renewable energy sector.

Details of the soldering process:

  • Generator used: Platinum HF2 (high frequency with 2.5 kW)
  • Tinning time: 2.1 seconds
  • Tin alloy: Pre-deposited on the contact strips
  • Inductor: Single-turn, closed inductor
  • Temperature monitoring: Not required

By developing specialized equipment, this process can be integrated into an automated production line, increasing efficiency and ensuring consistent quality in tinning operations, meeting the high standards of the renewable energy market.

A high frequency Platinum HF6 generator was used in the process: with a heating time of 5 seconds it is possible to bring the piece to temperature and dispense the correct quantity of alloy. An open inductor was used for the process. The temperature was monitored using a thermal image camera.
